Faith Goes to Work Faith goes to work is a full day or extended day workshop for clergy and lay leaders designed to help people apply their faith to their work. Janet bases this workshop on her books Real Power and The Critical Journey. Why a workshop on faith and work? For so many of us our faith and our work are separate, distinct parts of our lives. But if we view them together, faith and work can be part of an organic whole. No matter how we choose our careers, whether paid or volunteer, we all can engage in meaningful and productive work activities. And no matter what our work is, we can find a way to relate it to our faith journey. And if we understand and cultivate the connections between the two, life changes can result. Where we are on our faith journey affects how we behave and how we live out our calling as God's people in the world. When we discover our calling we become soul leaders and soul leadership begins with the willingness to be someone other than who the world wants us to be. What can you expect from this workshop? 1. You will discover your stage of faith through by completing the Spiritual Life Inventory. 2. You will have time for personal reflection and small group discussions. 3. You will explore how your stage of faith influences your values, sense of purpose and the choices you make in ministry in your life. 4. You will understand the ways in which people at each stage view and express their faith in relation to work. Questions that people ask about faith and work * How do I go about making ethical decisions in my work? * How do I bring my faith to work without being preachy? * Is spirituality different from religion? * If I take my spirituality seriously what will I have to give up?
