• A description of an idea about the inner life—for instance forgiving someone for a hurt that we have carried for a long time. I illustrated the idea with a personal story and a process for living out that idea.
• A set of questions for the reader to ponder in order to apply the idea to his or her own life. In one instance, I invite readers to send in their own stories so that others may benefit from them.

A few of the essays are from previously published material, so some of the stories may be repeated, however, when the context for the story changes, a new aspect of the experience comes to the fore. My spiritual journey has brought me to a deeper intimacy with God, but I realize that some readers will call their spiritual source by another name. That is well and good. I hope that by hearing these ideas and stories will bring several of your own stories will come to light mind. By telling our stories and listening to our lives with spiritual intent, we invite the Holy to transform us and we live into the light.
