Qualification for the Real Power Network is rooted in the very concepts you read about in the book, Real Power. The guidelines that follow outline the process for being accepted as a member of the Real Power Network. As you review the guidelines, decide whether you would like to be part of this amazing group of women and men who are transforming their own lives and the lives of others. Meet the people who are already a part of the network.

1. Join the Real Power Network if you have been personally moved or deepened by the material in the book Real Power, or if the material has changed the way in which you view yourself and your work.
   
   
2. Join the Real Power Network if you believe in and are willing to practice the growth pattern (stages of personal power) described in the Real Power materials. This does not mean there is no room for changes in the materials. It does mean you believe that you and others can continue to develop throughout your lifetime.
   
   
3. Join the Real Power Network if you are willing to develop your own unique way to teach or use the Real Power materials, letting the network know periodically how you are doing. We also ask that you share ways that you use the materials, including which handouts you use and the stories you tell, so others can be enriched by your experience.

Janet freely shares her Real Power handouts, all recent developments for applying the model in new venues, and each of her published articles as well as pre-published rewrites of her books. The Network has a special password-protected web site where they can gather as a Network to speak freely among themselves. There is a message board and list serve available to all Network members.

4. Join the Real Power Network if you are willing to be a mentor to your friends, co-workers, and other Network members. Each Network member applies this material in different ways and in different settings. Their differences add to the richness of the whole. And where work settings are similar, Network members also benefit from each other's experience.

This material is used in a wide array of locations and with diverse groups that include: wilderness settings, law firms, corporations, couple's groups, military organizations, schools, hospitals, professional organizations, and churches. Perhaps you already have a new setting in mind.

5. Join the Real Power Network if you are willing to participate in at least one annual retreat for Network members. This two-day event is generally held in Minneapolis during the summer. It is a source of replenishment for Real Power Network members who set their own agenda each year.
   
   
6. Join the Real Power Network if you believe it is the right thing for you and if you are moved to use the material in your journey forward. There is no fee to join. There is no required training or testing on the material. Simply let us know your intention to join by sending us your personal and work information.
