Currently Janet is directing the Silent Witness National Initiative, a movement whose goal is to reduce domestic violence murders to 0 by the year 2010. As director of Silent Witness she lead a march in Washington DC which attracted participants from all fifty states and eight other countries. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Janet is dedicated to broad community service including over twenty five years of active board membership as well as fourteen years of volunteer service with women inmates. These accomplishments include:
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND Janet attended St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota, obtaining a BA degree and a Master of Social Work degree. She has completed all of her course work towards a Ph.D. in Adult Development. In addition, she is a certified spiritual director. INTERESTS AND PHILOSOPHY Her interests include travel, walking, reading, sports and fast cars. Her philosophy of life is "if you don't learn how to laugh at yourself, sooner or later someone else will." |
